While the site was originally launched to showcase Canadian accommodations, retail stores/outlets, restaurants and attractions to Chinese tourists and locals, LAT has shifted gears in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to help Canadian businesses get news out about their products and services to local Chinese speaking individuals.
“We recognize people cannot travel to Canada at this time, so it makes sense to repurpose our existing website and Chinese social media presence as a platform to showcase Canadian products and innovative offers to Chinese locals across Canada,” explains LAT’s President Lise Alain. “We want to support the many local retailers and producers across Canada so they can enhance their reach to this market, and hopefully recover more quickly after the travel restrictions ease up.”
Companies seeking a free Chinese listing can visit www.travelcanada.cn and fill out a form to apply. Alternatively, they can email LAT. LAT’s team will adapt the offer in Chinese, and add it to the site and social media accounts.
Qualifying companies must be based in Canada and offer quality, authentic Canadian products or services that respect the current health guidelines for COVID-19. Listings will also be added for attractions offering virtual experiences, restaurants offering local delivery and hotels/resorts providing special offers to front line workers.
